The ADSL connection has a rate of up to 7 Mbps in download and up to 832 Kbps in upload. The minimum download rate for ADSL is 128 Kbps, the SHDSL 2Mbps/4Mbps/8Mbps connections have a minimum download rate of 256Kbps/768Kbps/1024Kbps respectively (values determined pursuant to art. 7, paragraphs 3-4 of resolution 244/08/CSP of the Italian National Regulatory Authority).
The actual speed of the connection depends on the distance from telephone exchange, the quality of the local loop and the amount of congestion on the network and server you are connected to.
