How to communicate

Once registered on Vodafone network, you will be able to call and receive calls as if you were on your own network.
Remember to put the international prefix of the Country before the called number. Otherwise your call will be directed to a local Italian number.

Besides voice calls, you can also enjoy data services, like WAP and Internet access.
If your own Operator has a GPRS roaming agreement with Vodafone you can also use the data services over GPRS, experiencing an improved and faster connection.

The GSM 900 MHz or 1,800 MHz frequency is used throughout Italy and Europe.

In the USA and Canada, on the other hand, the 1,900 MHz frequency or iDEN technology are used. If you have a mobile phone which operates at 900 or 1,800 MHz, you can use it in Italy.

You can purchase a mobile phone from any Vodafone One shop. Tri-band mobile phones which operate at 900 MHz, 1,800 MHz and 1,900 MHz are also available.

How to make a phone call

To make an international phone call when you're in Italy, dial the international dialling code '00' or '+', followed by the code of the country you're calling, the area code without the '0' followed by the subscriber's number.

For example, if you wish to phone Great Britain, dial +44 113 1234567 or 0044 113 1234567.

To make a call to an Italian phone number also dial the number with the international dialling code.
