Vodafone prepaid and billing customers alike can automatically make and receive calls whilst abroad.
The international roaming service is automatically enabled when you activate your SIM card.
Once abroad, select a Vodafone roaming partner as your host Operator and enjoy making and receiving calls, sending and receiving SMS.
Don't forget to dial the international country code of the country you are calling (to call Italy dial +39) and to top up your prepaid phone.
With Prepaid Roaming you can call from outside Italy just by dialling the international prefix of the country of the number you wish to call (+39 or 0039 for Italy) followed by the number.
For example, to call 3481234xxx, just dial +393481234xxx.
Find out the operators for which Prepaid Roaming is available.
If Prepaid Roaming is not available, dial *123*, followed by the country code, by the complete phone number and by pound (#). Now press the 'send' button, your phone will start ringing within seconds: answer and your call will automatically go through.
For example, if you wish to call the Italian number 3481234xxx, dial *123*+393481234xxx# without spaces and press the 'send' button.
To access the available credit on your prepaid phone while abroad, dial the free phone number *123*414#.
If you want to use your prepaid SIM outside Italy without worrying about checking your available credit or running out of credit, you can enable the Credit Card Roaming service free of charge.
With this service, the cost of the services used outside Italy is charged directly to your credit card1 instead of being deducted from the prepaid traffic on your SIM.
Activating this service is easy and absolutely free: just fill out the request form available at all Vodafone Authorised Resellers and Vodafone One Sales Points. Charges to your credit card will be made only for calls made outside Italy.
Once the service is activated, you can call directly just by dialling the international prefix of the country of the number you wish to call (+39 or 0039 for Italy) followed by the number.
Upon underwriting a Vodafone contract, the client has given Setefi S.p.A authority to make direct charges to his/her credit card. Setefi S.p.A. is thus authorized to make all the necessary charges in order to cover all expenses incurred while roaming.
