The cost of an SMS sent from Italy towards other national numbers depends on the rate set out in your Mobile Phone Price Plan. We remind you that where your SMS exceed the maximum limit of 160 characters and you thereby send chains of more than one SMS, the cost will depend on the number of SMS you send in total.
The Ricevuta di Ritorno service, which allows you to receive a delivery report about each SMS, sent costs 15 cents per report.
For all Vodafone customers, sending an international SMS (from Italy to overseas mobile network operators) costs 30 cents (VAT included) and the cost of sending SMS in Roaming (when you send an SMS from abroad to any country) depends on the pricing zone from which the SMS was sent.

Messages sent from Italy which contain pictures, where the handset in question is able to handle them, can cause 3 or more SMS to be debited to your credit, even where the recipient's telephone is unable to visualize or receive them.

Vodafone customers and other Operators' customers who have agreed to the service can receive MMS messages directly on their mobile phones. Vodafone customers can start receiving MMS messages after having sent at least one MMS message. The size of an MMS message varies depending on the Operator and on the MMS mobile phone used. It cannot however exceed 300kb.
